These terms govern your use of Capsule: Sealed Memories ("the app"), published by Hugo Software Limited ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to them.
The app
Capsule lets you write a note, optionally attach photos, videos or voice recordings, choose a future date and seal it. The capsule stays locked in the app's interface until that date, when you can break the seal and read it.
Important: the seal is an experience, not a security feature. Your capsules are stored unencrypted in the app's local storage on your device. Anyone with access to your unlocked device, or to a device backup, may be able to reach that data by other means. Do not store passwords, financial details or anything you need to keep secret.
Your content
Everything you put into a capsule stays yours. We do not receive it, host it, moderate it or claim any rights over it. You are responsible for what you record and for having the right to record it, including the consent of other people who appear in your photos, videos or recordings.
Your content can be lost
Capsules live only on your device. They will be permanently lost if you uninstall the app, clear the app's data, lose or reset the device, or if the device fails. We keep no backup and cannot recover anything. If a capsule matters to you, keep a separate copy of the original material elsewhere. The app is provided as a keepsake, not as an archival or backup service.
Free version and Capsule Premium
The app is free to use. The free version allows one active (unsealed and unopened) capsule at a time.
Capsule Premium is an optional auto-renewing monthly subscription that removes that limit and unlocks a richer opening ritual. Where offered, a free trial period applies before the first charge.
- Subscriptions are sold, billed and managed by Google Play. Prices are shown in your local currency before you confirm.
- The subscription renews automatically until cancelled. Cancel at any time in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds are handled by Google under Google Play's refund policy. We cannot issue refunds for Play purchases ourselves.
- We may change the subscription price or what Premium includes; changes to price apply only to future billing periods and Google will notify you as required.
Acceptable use
Do not use the app to break the law, and do not attempt to reverse engineer, resell or redistribute it except as permitted by applicable law.
Disclaimer and liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for lost, corrupted or prematurely revealed content, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Changes
We may update these terms; the current version is always on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
